6/365 - Advent Calendar in January

Managing to demolish an advent calendar in January, felt so wrong, but it was oh so yummy.

Opening the Christmas Eve window was a little disappointing, it told me Santa was coming tonight ... if only!

5/365 Greek Coffee

I had been really excited to go and try some Greek food at a local restaurant, but was distinctly overwhelmed with the choices on offer. Garlic bread and kebabs were things that I had eaten before, and had better at local takeaways. However as a coffee lover I jumped at the chance to try a traditional Greek coffee.

Here is the coffee in question.

A Greek coffee is served without milk and sweetened with sugar, however when I came to taste the coffee it tasted distinctly of something chemical, and left a horrible feeling in the back of my throat. I'm  not sure whether I got a bad coffee, but I don't think I will be try another in a hurry. Needless to say I only drank half of it - I don't like waste, but couldn't be sure I wasn't drinking cleaning liquids.

4/365 Tortilla Bake

So cooking is not one of my strong points, that and crafty posts are what I am aiming to improve in these 365 days. I thought I'd start easy with an Old El Paso tortilla bake kit. It was surprisingly fool proof and very tasty, smokey meat layers with a cheesy top, a bit like a Mexican lasgne. lus, it only took me about half an hour. Double thumbs up, here it is before it goes in the oven.

Tortilla bake all cheesy and ready to go!

If anyone else knows any fool-proof recipes or crafts please send them over and I will try and complete them in the next 361 days!

3/365 - Wear a beret!

So I don't wear hats, sunglasses or anything on my head as it's inappropriately small compared to the rest of my body. I'm still not sure which way this 'beret' is best to be worn.

No I'm still not sure either, but I wore it out to dinner anyway.

If you do like the hat it was from French Connection's Autumn Winter collection it has appeared to have sold out online, but was in twilight mix it still may be available in stores with the matching gloves and scarf which are also rather lovely.

2/365 Teatime

Today I tried Earl Grey tea, my Dad and I had to use an icing implement and a pair of scissors to strain the leaves. It got a little messy in the kitchen!

Turns out I don't like Earl Grey tea much, I will be sticking to my Yorkshire Gold then. Still rocking the Christmas mugs into January it's a Whittards mug and I don't want to give up using it just yet.

Inspired 01.01.2013

After reading a man's blog about trying a new thing everyday, I thought I would try and give it a whirl, and hopefully it will keep me blogging too!

I will have to think of other inspiring things to keep me going!
